Content Ownership and Responsibility

This page explains how ownership and responsibility work on GoPlayTools and what the site does and does not support. The starting point is simple: the files you process are yours, and so is the responsibility for how you use them.

GoPlayTools is a set of browser tools for image and video files that are already on your device. Every tool processes files locally in your browser. No file is uploaded to a server, and GoPlayTools does not see, store or distribute your material. (The thumbnail extractor is the only online tool: it reads a cover image that a YouTube or Bilibili video page already displays publicly, and it likewise sends none of your files to GoPlayTools or to any server.) We therefore cannot verify the origin or rights of any file, and do not attempt to. That responsibility rests entirely with the user.

Use Only Files You Own or Have Rights To

GoPlayTools tools are intended for files you own or are otherwise entitled to use. Before you process a file, make sure you have the appropriate right or permission. This includes images or videos you created yourself, material you were given explicit permission to use, and content that is in the public domain or covered by a license that allows your intended use.

Permission can be narrow. A frame you extract or a GIF you make from someone else's video is still based on material that may be protected, and converting it creates no new right to publish. A third-party video's cover thumbnail likewise belongs to its uploader or rights holders. The thumbnail extractor exists only as a convenience for purposes such as identifying or describing a video; any saving or use of a cover must still respect fair use rules, obtain permission where required and follow the relevant platform's terms of service. If you plan to publish or sell an output, you are responsible for confirming that the original material permits that use and for following the rules of the platform where you share it.

No Unauthorized Downloads

GoPlayTools provides no feature for downloading videos or audio from YouTube, Bilibili or any other service, and it will not help circumvent access controls or paywalls. The thumbnail extractor is the single exception, and it is strictly limited: it reads, through the platform's public interface, a cover image that a video page already displays publicly. It cannot be used to download a video or its audio, and it cannot reach content behind any access control. Apart from that tool, GoPlayTools has no "download from a link" tool and no way to fetch content from a URL; every other tool operates on files that are already saved on your own device.

If you have a legitimate right to content hosted elsewhere, obtain it through that service's official channels. GoPlayTools will not help circumvent access controls, download protected content without authorization or bypass any platform's terms.

No Support for Copyright Infringement

GoPlayTools does not support, encourage or assist copyright infringement. The tools must not be used to copy, extract or convert protected material without authorization. We do not advise on taking content from other accounts or evading the protections that platforms and rights holders put in place.

If we become aware of an infringing use of the site, we may decline to support it. Nothing on this site should be read as advice to reproduce material you do not have rights to.

Content You Publish Remains Your Responsibility

The output files you create are your responsibility from the moment you save them. GoPlayTools is a neutral tool: it does not review or approve your content, your publishing choices or their consequences. If an output is challenged, resolving the matter is up to you and, if necessary, the relevant rights holders or authorities.

Service Provided "As Is"

GoPlayTools tools are provided free of charge and on an "as is" basis. We work to keep the tools accurate and dependable, but make no warranty that results are error-free or that every file will be processed correctly. You use the site at your own discretion; to the maximum extent permitted by law, GoPlayTools accepts no liability for loss arising from use of the tools or reliance on their output.

Trademarks and Affiliation

Platform names on GoPlayTools, including YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Bilibili, are used only to describe practical matters such as pixel dimensions or sizing presets. These names and associated logos are trademarks of their respective owners. Their mention is descriptive and does not indicate any affiliation, endorsement or sponsorship.
